Armando Acevedo Armando Acevedo

Armando Acevedo is delighted to be playing in his native city at last. Currently in rehearsals for Inanna and the Huluppu Tree at The Playground Theatre in Miami Shores, he just closed a production of The Steadfast Tin Soldier, in which he played the title role. Armando made his television debut in Univision’s Acorralada, now airing internationally, in which he brought down the law as El comisario Gomez. He just completed work on Telemundo’s El Rostro de Analia as the nurse determined to foil the villainess’s evil scheme.

Armando played opposite Tom Arnold in The Year of Getting to Know Us. He began his professional acting career at the Hippodrome Theatre in Gainesville with Nilo Cruz’s Pulitzer-winning Anna in the Tropics. With seven Hippodrome shows to his credit, he enjoys returning to his theatre roots in Gainesville. Armando is a graduate of the University of Miami, where he majored in Biomedical Engineering. A five-year stint in Los Angeles got him a graduate degree in theatre from the California Institute of the Arts as well as experience working as a lounge singer for the Russian-Jewish community. His work with the Walt Disney Company has had him suspended in midair eighty feet by a steel cable in Aladdin: A Musical Spectacular. He has also enjoyed his time working at Disneyland Paris in France and at Walt Disney World in Florida. He works part time as an Adventure Guide for Adventures by Disney, leading tours in Spain and Peru.

An avid runner, Armando is excited to participate in his hometown’s celebrity 5k.
