Myrka Dellanos
Myrka Dellanos is a two-time award winning journalist who has spent almost two decades in front of the cameras, covering worldwide news events for the leading Spanish Network, Univision and she is one of the most recognizable television personality's in Spanish.
Myrka hosted top-rated news-magazine show Primer Impacto for ten years. She then hosted her own interview show called "Exclusively with Myrka Dellanos" where she had the opportunity to interview renowned artists such as Ricky Martin, Jennifer Lopez, Placido Domingo, Oscar de la Hoya among many others. She was also asked to guest host on The View with Barbara Walters where the famous American journalist called Myrka, the Latin Barbara Walters.
For her work as a journalist, Myrka also received three ACE Awards in New York, was named Outstanding Young Woman of America; she's part of the list of Who's Who among Latinos; she received the Hispanic Leadership Award; also the Hispanic of the year by the Direct Marketing Association of America and the Athena Award given to the woman that helps promote the rights of women, among many others.
In her spare time, Myrka has dedicated herself to humanitarian efforts, first as spokesperson for Save the Children and most recently for WorldVision International. She has also worked with the Miami Children's Hospital Foundation and the American Diabetes Association. Most recently she founded MROC (Missions Reaching Out Compassionately) a non-profit 501(c)3 Organization that helps women and children in poverty in the US and Latin America. Myrka was also a member of the Freedom Corps, and was appointed by President Bush to award and promote volunteerism in the US.
Myrka is also a best-selling author and entrepreneur with her own jewelry line on HSN Shopping Network. She has graced the cover of numerous magazines, including People En Espanol's most beautiful issue 4 times.
But for all of her accomplishments, Myrka is most proud of her role as mother to her teenage daughter Alexa.
