Chef Pepin
His knee-slapping antics, rapid-fire Spanish and hefty persona have led more than one entertainment reporter to call him “a cross between Ricky Ricardo and Dom De Louise.” That unique combination of endearing qualities, along with his mastery of International cuisine with a Latin flair , has made the multi-talented “Chef Pepín”one of today’s most beloved Spanish-language media personalities.
With his trademark chef’s hat and winning smile, Chef Pepín has been boosting on-air ratings since 1988. His track record speaks for itself: an ongoing cooking segment on Univision’s top-rated morning show, Despierta América, which is seen on more than 690 broadcast and cables stations in two continents; an extremely successful, international, cooking show on the MGM Networks Latin America; and regular appearances on Miami’s WPBT-2’s Emmy-award winning magazine show, “New Florida.” Little wonder he is considered, by all accounts, America’s premier Hispanic TV chef.
Chef Pepin has appeared in numerous consumer and trade media, including feature length stories in “Vive Mejor”, “Viviendo” and Latina Magazine.
As a brand spokesperson for packaged-goods companies, Chef Pepín’s success is equally impressive. Besides having appeared nationwide on countless radio and television commercials and print ads over the years, he also is constantly being sought out by clients to represent them in everything from street festivals to press tours to in-store appearances. His innate ability to move product off store shelves in record numbers is legendary – and has garnered for him an enviable roster of national and international clients.
A philanthropist who often donates his talents to charity, Chef Pepín is also the author of a best-selling, Spanish-language, Latin cookbook, “Cooking With Chef Pepin.” An English version is already in the works, as the Spanish version sold out. Most recently, Chef Pepin launched his new line of kitchenware and small food appliances and they are available in stores and via online catalogs at Target.com, Burlington Coat Factory, Home Depot.com, Wal-Mart.com and AASEF Exchange.
